WRITING | Street Sense Media: "Workplace Protections Not Guaranteed for Volunteers Harassed or Assaulted on the Job" (2016)

During the fall semester of my senior year of college, I worked at a biweekly "street paper" that was co-written by college interns and community members experiencing homelessness.

For my most challenging story, I designed and administered an anonymous survey of forty-five nonprofits for an article on workplace harassment protections for unpaid volunteers and interns. The article resulted in at least one surveyed organization implementing a formal workplace harassment policy, and was recognized by the D.C. chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists as a 2017 finalist for "Best Non-Deadline Reporting."
